Herzlich Willkommen/Welcome:
On behalf of the members of the German Heritage Council of NJ, I would like to welcome you to our website. Here you will find information about this year’s festival, an overview of previous festivals, our scholarship program, etc.
On Sunday, September 9, 2007, we will be celebrating the 34th Annual German Heritage Festival. At this time, the committee members are busy organizing this great all-day event at the beautiful PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. I’m confident that this will be a great and memorable day for all in attendance.
Once again, there will be no Mall fee. This gives everyone a chance to enjoy ethnic food, as well as ethnic merchandise, music and dancing groups free of charge. As in the past, the highlight of the day is the stage show with entertainers from overseas and a mass chorus.
I’m proud to announce, back by popular demand will be “Heino – Die Stimme der Heimat” for an unprecedented seventh and final appearance at the Arts Center. He is one of Germany’s most beloved and well known singers, who is recognized all over the world. He will be joined by Mandy Bach, a young talented singer, and Heino’s Show Band.
Your support of the festival will give the German-American Community of New Jersey the opportunity to raise money for our scholarship program for students who study the German language, as well as other worthwhile causes. You can also help us in the endeavor by taking an ad in our program book or attending the reception after the stage show.
On behalf of the committee, I would like to invite you to this wonderful festival that we are planning. The German Heritage Festival is the only ethnic festival remaining with a stage show. Therefore I am counting on your support, so we can continue this tradition for years to come.
I hope to see all of you at the 34th Annual German Heritage Festival on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at the PNC Bank Arts Center; Where We All Come Together.
Auf Wiedersehen.
Ted Hierl,
General Chairman
